Jealousy, beware!

jeal⋅ous⋅y [jel-uh-see]
1. jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another’s success or advantage itself.

I was reading this blog this morning about the music biz and one of the topics was about friends who become jealous of you as you start to succeed. Interestingly enough I was at a Barbara Morrison this weekend, and by the way she is a fantastic Blues/Jazz singer, but more on her later. We ran into each other after the last concert of the weekend and had a bite to eat together. One of the things we talked about was fame and friends. Her observations were so very relevant to what has happened to me the last year. She said she had noticed that it was her friends and those close to her that seemed to have issues about her fame.

And then here was this article this morning about the same thing! Negative people and people who seem to pull you down just because they want you to fail and are jealous of you reaching for the stars.

So I shall surround myself with humans who say, Never Give Up Your Dream, instead of those who are afraid to go out and get the dream themselves for fear of failure or success.

Let me give one more example, someone who said they could book me all over Asia on tour turned out didn’t have he connections or booking power. So my lesson is, be careful who you take advise from and listen to at some point the scales will tip in your direction and you will be glad you NEVER GAVE UP!

Toxic relationships, that is what they are called. We all have them in our lives, the person you know who is always complaining about their life, always something wrong. Or how about the person who sucks energy from your very soul. After spending time with them you are exhausted and feel like you need a nap just to re-charge from the energy drain.

I have been trying to get rid of these people, or at least cut down on time spent with them. A mental note was made as a New Years resolution to try and spend time with only those who lift my spirit up and support me.

Some have already weeded themselves out of my life naturally. Thank you Universe for supporting me and thank you friends who lift me and I lift them!
