Moving a recording studio

Thank goodness yesterday is gone…I moved my life yesterday to new digs, well, old yet new. I moved back to the house I had been in 6 months ago. Nice to be back to a fresh coat of paint and my old recording studio. For those who have moved a studio, you know what a pain in the ass it is. Mine is simple, I only record voice over in my intimate booth, and an occasional singing spot, but to move all it’s contents is very trying.

First you have to take all the equipment out, the microphone, the stand, the walls. Then transport the whole thing to another location and re-build it all again. However, it made me scream in joy when everything had been glued and screwed back on the walls, connected and plugged into the computer. Sound? Check. Dead space? Check. Let’s record! So I recorded a piece for Netflix which required me to fast talk, one thing I can do well, about the history of the world in 30 seconds, with a Jersey accent no less. Fun!!

The very first thing I unpacked were my shoes and purses. Ahhhhhh, look how pretty they look on their own wall of shelves….all color coordinated no less. Another thing I’ve got? Great legs and lots of fabulous shoes to make them look better!

Now that the two most important things are placed in their proper spots, let’s get on with the rest of the house, shall we?
