Kelly text-ed me asking if I was coming to Girlfriend coffee this morning in Marin, I replied, “Just flung the children out of the car door and on my way…” She replied, ” U shud at least slow down!”
To which I then replied,” They know how to tuck and roll when they hit the ground!”
“Good Mommy! Those r the skills they need in life!”
That what friends are for…to support you and the children.
Then after I left my girlfriends, I jumped into my car and took off to pick up the children, turned on the radio…and low and behold(whatever that means)they were talking about me! How George Mesterhazy and I would be performing at Piedmont Piano for our new CD release concert…then they talked about me…blah, blah, blah, I don’t need to bore you with what they said, but I loved every second of it.
Anyway, then it was drizzling rain and as we rolled down the freeway there was the faintest of rainbows, which made me remember my high school reunion a few years ago. We held it in Hawaii on the island of Kauai, the land of the the rainbows….and roosters. Roosters that wake you up at some ungodly hour of the morning!!!!
But the best part of the island is not the rainbows, or the waterfalls or the ocean or the friends…but the shaved ice at Jo Jo’s. The food of the Gods!! Any flavor you want over cream and shaved ice…ahhhhhhhh, pure heaven. We lined up everyday with the locals and waited for them to open so we could have our daily dose of shaved ice.
I think I need to go and get my daily dose…Anyone want to join me?Post Tags:
