The Fireside Room

Yesterday I had a fabulous time performing with the Kelly Park Trio at the Fireside Room in Rossmoor. For those who don’t know, Rossmoor is a retirement community in Northern California, but upscale and very beautiful. This is where I would want to go when I decide I don’t want to take care of the yard and I want to golf, swim, listen to killer music of all kinds etc, etc, etc.

Talk about your attentive audience! Of course they loved our show, and everyone came up to me after wards and told me how wonderful I was and that my voice was sultry and warm and lent itself to those great tunes from the 20’s to 40’s. I think I was born in the wrong time period.

Don’t a lot of people think that? That they should have been born in another time period? Oh, I would have loved to live in medieval times, they say. Really? Really? Without running water and toilets? You showered once a year and starved most of the time. No heat, no insect repellent, no cleaning lady, no grocery store, no cars, no dinners out on date night, no fridge, no pets(they were the food) no Starbucks or Peets. WHAT??? But most of all, no jazz trios!!! No i-pods with Words With Friends (I’m kickin your ass by the way, you know who you are).

And if you want to do a game of Words With Friends, just download it on your i-pod touch or i-phone and find me, I am under Lisa Lu.
